Civic Association for Communication and Education Sophia (ACCESOphia) is a nonprofit organisation established in Madrid in 2013 with the mission to promote intercultural dialoge, social inclusion and empowerment through education and training, defence of human rights and international cooperation. ACCESOphia considers education and communication as key tools for fostering integral human development and enhancing values ​​of equal opportunities, solidarity, social participation and mutual understanding of different cultures. The nonprofit develops and implements projects and activities targeted to socially disadvantaged groups with special emphasis on migrant communities.

Some of the most significant projects in the field of migrant integration and social cohesion from the ACCESOphia’s portfolio are Promoting European values for inclusion in the classroom through Cyrillic as the third official alphabet of the EU and common cultural heritage of Europe (EUROCIRILIC); Networking the European Including Children Affected by Migration Programme (ICAMNet); Fostering Resilience, Inclusive Education and Non-Discrimination in Schools (FRIENDS).

ACCESOphia works in a network with a variety of educational centres, authorities, organisations and institutions in Spain and worldwide. Since 2018, the organisation has been officially affiliated to the European Antibullying Network (EAN).

Guergana Tsenova is a social communicator and expert in migration, integration and diversity management. BA in Hispanic Philology and MA in European Integration by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), PGCert in PR by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Co-founder of 2 NGOs, since 2013 she has been leading the nonprofit organisation ACCESOphia. Her main activities and responsibilities are project formulation and management in the field of education and social inclusion at national, European and international level.

She has been Head of Communications of the Spanish-Bulgarian Centre for Participation and Integration of Immigrants of the Regional Government of Madrid, where she played a key role in building the centre’s community and implementing the regional integration policy. A media contributor mainly on migration and integration issues, she has been in charge of the conception, launching and expansion of Raíz Bulgaria, a magazine with a circulation of 20.000 copies targeted to the Bulgarian community in Spain. In academic matters, her most relevant experience has been the conception and launching of the Diploma in Migration and Integration Management of the University of Aconcagua (UAC) in Chile.
