The ambition of the research group Decent Work at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht is to use practice-based research to support organizations in creating, organizing, and sustaining decent work opportunities. Our aim is to contribute to economic self-reliance and self-esteem, particularly for people in vulnerable positions in the labor market.

Dr. Leendert de Bell is professor for sustainable labour participation of vulnerable groups (in particular refugees) at the Research Centre for Social Innovation at University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU), and is academic staff member at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Utrecht University (UU). He obtained his PhD in International Development Studies at Utrecht University and has extensive international experience in research and training for both private and public sector organisations. His current research mainly focuses on issues related to inclusive employment, social entrepreneurship, and international migration.
